“Fabulous. Why aren’t you running for the leadership of the Progressive Conservatives?”
This was just one of the comments to Michelle Rempel at the Canadian Club of Calgary luncheon on Friday April 21, 2017. A good crowd of about 61 members and guests were given an interesting topic on how Canadians are “Remarkably Unremarkable”. The main point of her luncheon presentation was how Canada is not fully understanding the world-wide issues that are coming about because of the immigrant migration. She referenced the difficulties in France, USA, and Germany. Her idea is that Canada needs to address this issue immediately by taking more control of who enters Canada, and to lead the world in picking its own refugees by not relying on the United Nations to select who will be coming to Canada.
Many of the members remarked that it was great to have a Progressive Conservative speaking at the Canadian Club of Calgary. It is interesting to note that the last Conservative speaker at the Canadian Club was Jim Prentice. Michelle Rempel took over his seat after Jim moved to into private life and then provincial politics.
